Feldtmann Lake Loop Trail

Feldtmann Lake Trail is one of a few loop trails on Isle Royale and the most popular of them.  It is a perfect trail for first time visitors as it provides an excellent overall representation of the island.  The trail features numerous ups and downs of about 600 feet in elevation each day, natural wilderness, spectacular vistas of Lake Superior and Feldtmann Lake, dense woods, and pristine pebble beaches.  

Feldtmann Lake Loop Trail is moderately challenging due to its length, but it is worth the effort.  You can watch the sunset in the Rainbow Cove, see moose frolicking in Feldtmann Lake, enjoy spectacular panoramic views from the Feldtmann Fire Tower, explore the ruins of a 19th-century powder house, or swim in the refreshing waters of Siskiwit Bay.  It is an adventure you’ll never forget!
